Viuda De Angelon Sidra 1947

PRODUCER: VIUDA DE ANGELON, Nava, Astúrias

CIDER MAKER: Francisco Ordoñez

6% alc./vol., 750 ml., cork closure

A rare virtuoso performance in world cider making.

A special blend of 14 apple varieties is chilled to arrest primary fermentation just as the malolactic phase starts and with just the right level of residual sugar to finish fermenting ever-so-slowly in 50 gallon oak and chestnut casks at a cool temperature for eight months. It is then blended favoring the chestnut batches and bottled off-dry, as a full-bodied wine-like drink with depth and complexity and a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel for its bright clarity.

Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition: Gold, 2015
Festival de Sidra de Nava, Spain: Best Sidra Natural de Mesa, 2015, 2016

The Cider Journal: This is very nice Spanish cider that deserves a space in any cider aficionado’s collection. Tom Wark
